About Hunter

Accomplished actress Hunter Phoenix has built a dynamic career as a versatile talent, shining on-stage and on-screen in London and New York, gracing the pages of magazines in Athens and Istanbul and voicing more than 1000 commercial and animation projects before landing in Los Angeles.

Hunter delivers a unique combination of comedic relief, unyielding power and deep vulnerability. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, she has known what she wanted to do since the age of six.

“From the very first school play I wanted to be on stage all the time,” she said. “In the first grade we did the play The Three Bears. I memorized everyone’s lines to make sure I had a part.” It was then that Phoenix realized her knack for memorizing large amounts of text. “When other kids would shy away from it, I would go ahead and memorize what had to be done,” she explained. “Then I would just ask for the part.”

Although petite in stature, Phoenix carries a larger-than-life persona. Selected by IMDB as One of the Sexiest Actresses of All Times, this phenomenally vibrant and immensely talented, Canadian-born beauty exudes both grace and ambition when she steps into the room.

“When I was a young girl I always wanted to be a model; but I was never very tall – I really didn’t think I had a chance since most famous models are at least  5’9 or more.” Phoenix said. “I was studying theater in school, and working in a bar to pay off my student loan when a casting director for a beer commercial came in and asked the owner if he ‘could recommend any beautiful girls for the spot.’ He suggested me. I went out on my first modeling audition, kind of by accident. I was up against 400 other girls, and I got the job—I thought ‘hey this is easy!’ And that was how I became a ‘Bud Girl,’ I did several posters and even live appearances. The Budweiser thing was a long term project, and it was a sweet gig!”

That was the beginning of a career that has gained her an impressive resume and roster of both personal and professional achievements. A potent combination of warm personal charm and a figure of rare, profoundly appealing symmetry, Phoenix’s launch into the business steadily built momentum.

Hunter’s love for the theatre brought her to study with legendary acting coach Uta Hagen: a process that transformed her approach to the craft and led her to such roles on stage as Blanche in Streetcar Named Desire, Alyss in Sex Tips for Modern Girls and as Karen in David Mamet’s iconic Hollywood satire, Speed The Plow.

Recent projects include a lead role in the feature film A Jealous Friendship  for MarVista Entertainment  (expected release March 22, 2022 ) directed by Dylan Vox and written by Scotty Mullen, and Oddly Popular, a comedy pilot that has been featured in 27 film festivals and won 12  awards including  “Best Comedy” at The French Riviera Film Festival and “Best Comedy Pilot” at the Jersey Shore Film Festival.

Phoenix understands the complexities of acting, and says it has been a catalyst for personal growth in her life. “I love exploring human behavior and the human psyche to create really detailed and fully developed characters; studying the nuances of relationships and friendships. I have so much fun ‘playing’ with other actors, living out alternate realities without real world consequences.”

In addition to her on-camera acting career, Phoenix has emerged as a sought-after global leader and educator in the acting and artistic community as an Acting Mentor + Creative-Career Expert.

In 2020 Phoenix created and launched her popular online portal MyActorGuide.com, a top resource dedicated to providing practical and empowering tools to help new actors break into the entertainment industry and midlevel actors to transform their careers.

Originally just an idea, ‘a feeling’ and a simple blog post, of “Covid-19 Resources For Actors” when the pandemic first began, MyActorGuide.com now hosts more than 120 articles and resources for actors and is read by 10,000+ actors every month.

Industry leaders have also affirmed Hunter as “a career game-changer for actors.” Thrive Global declared Phoenix one of their “Inspirational Women in Hollywood,” and ShoutOut LA named her one of  LA’s Most Interesting People.

With over twenty  years of experience, Phoenix remains an in-demand, versatile force in the industry.

Hunter delights in currently residing in Los Angeles, CA, “a place where sun, sand and saltwater soothe my soul.”
